Taraflex® SPORTS FLOORING OFFERS ONLINE LEARNING COURSE FOR AIA MEMBERS
ATLANTA, GA, JULY 5, 2006 – Gerflor Sports Flooring, LLC, the exclusive agent for Taraflex® Sports Flooring by Gerflor, announces it has created a one-credit learning course for members of The American Institute of Architects (AIA). G2i has been a Registered Provider of the AIA Continuing Education System (CES) since 2003. Through CES, architects and architectural firms can accumulate the required course credits needed to meet state licensing and/or AIA education membership requirements. CES emphasizes learning to enable architects to keep current, master new knowledge and skills and plan for the future.
According to AIA guidelines, G2i developed “The Fundamentals of Indoor Sports Flooring,” a one-hour course explaining the various types of sports flooring. The course provides an overview of the different safety and performance characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of point-, mixed-, area- and combined-elastic sports flooring along with explanations of common installation problems. The course is free for AIA members and available at www.aecdaily.com.
“We have found our association with the AIA to be very positive,” says Stephane Leudet, national sales manager. “With the busy schedule many architects have, it was a natural progression to move from our first course, which was a traveling program presented to architects in their offices, to an online program which architects can access at their convenience.”
The CES program allows members to fulfill a requirement for AIA membership and meet any state mandatory continuing education requirement. Gerflor Sports Flooring, LLC is part of the AIA-CES network of more than 2,300 educational providers made up of AIA Chapters, affiliate organizations, firms, manufacturers, universities, non-profit organizations and government agencies. These CES Providers offer more than 25,000 programs each year.
